How to enable Two-factor authentication (2FA)

2FA stands for "Two-Factor Authentication," an additional security layer that requires users to provide two types of information to access their accounts. It typically involves a combination of something the user knows (like a password) and something they have (like a smartphone or hardware token). This two-step verification process significantly enhances security and helps prevent unauthorized access.

Once you're logged in into Vestinda app, click on the Account link from the left menu and go to the Security tab or click on the Account dropdown (top right) then click on the Security link.

You'll end up on your Account page, Security tab.

Identify the Two-factor authentication section.

Important

Copy the code displayed and save it somewhere safe. This code will allow you to recover your Vestinda 2FA account in case you lose access to the device where the Authenticator app is installed.

In order to enable 2FA for you Vestinda account, you must install an Authenticator app on your phone.

We recommend Google Authenticator for that. You can find the app in both Google Play Store and Apple AppStore. Just open the Store app on your phone and search for "Google Authenticator". Install the app and follow the instructions to login (easiest is to login with your Google account).

Once you have the app installed, tap on the + button in the bottom-right corner, then tap on the Scan QR code button.

Next, point your phone camera to the QR code in the Account > Security screen.

You should now have the Vestinda account added to your Google Authenticator account.

Next, add the code provided by the app into the Vestinda Account > Security screen in the Verification code field.

Click on the Enable 2FA button to enable two-factor authentication.

You should receive a message that you successfully enabled 2FA, like in the screenshot below:

Next time you will login to the Vestinda app, you'll also be requested the 2FA verification code from your Google Authenticator app.

Just open the Google Authenticator app and type the code that it generates for you, then click on the Verify button and that's it! You're now logged in into your Vestinda account using 2FA.

In case you lose access to the device or remove your Vestinda account from the Authenticator app by mistake (while still having it enabled inside the Vestinda app), just re-install the Authenticator app on the same device or a new one and add the Vestinda account again.
